How to pray Eid al-Fitr prayer
The Eid prayer is two rak'ahs prayed in congregation shortly after sunrise on the morning of Eid. It includes additional takbirs (seven in the first rak'ah, five in the second) before the recitation. The imam delivers a khutbah after the prayer. There is no adhan or iqamah for Eid prayer.
How to pray Eid prayerTakbirat al-Eid
It is sunnah to recite the takbeer of Eid loudly from the night before Eid until the imam begins the Eid prayer. Men recite aloud and women recite quietly. The wording (different narrations exist; this is the most common):
اللهُ أَكْبَرُ، اللهُ أَكْبَرُ، اللهُ أَكْبَرُ، لا إلهَ إلا الله، واللهُ أَكْبَرُ، اللهُ أَكْبَرُ، وللهِ الحَمْد.
