Give in charity even if it is with one date, for indeed it will satisfy the hungry and extinguish sin as water extinguishes fire.

Abu Hurairah•Musnad Ahmad

Whoever gives charity equal to a date from good earnings - and Allah does not accept except what is good - Allah will accept it with His Right Hand, then He will nurture it for its owner, as one of you nurtures his foal, until it becomes like a mountain.

Abu Hurairah•Sahih Bukhari & Muslim

Abu Hurairah•Sahih Muslim

Every Muslim must give charity. They said: What if he cannot find anything? He said: Let him work with his hands to benefit himself and give charity. They said: What if he cannot or does not? He said: Let him help the needy who are distressed. They said: What if he does not? He said: Let him command good or righteousness. He said: What if he does not? He said: Let him restrain from evil, for that is charity.

When a person dies, his deeds come to an end except for three: ongoing charity, beneficial knowledge, or a righteous child who prays for him.
