How to pray Eid al-Adha prayer
Eid al-Adha prayer is two rak'ahs prayed in congregation shortly after sunrise on 10 Dhu al-Hijjah, with additional takbirs (seven in the first rak'ah, five in the second) before the recitation. The imam delivers a khutbah afterwards explaining the rulings of the udhiyah (sacrifice). There is no adhan or iqamah.
How to pray Eid prayerTakbirat al-Eid
It is sunnah to recite the takbeer of Eid al-Adha from after Fajr on the Day of Arafah (9 Dhu al-Hijjah) until Asr of the 13th. Recite after every obligatory prayer, in the markets, and at home. The wording (different narrations exist; this is the most common):
اللهُ أَكْبَرُ، اللهُ أَكْبَرُ، اللهُ أَكْبَرُ، لا إلهَ إلا الله، واللهُ أَكْبَرُ، اللهُ أَكْبَرُ، وللهِ الحَمْد.
